Campaign Finance Reports

In Washington state, it is illegal for a candidate to receive more than $200 in contributions from any individual or political party in the two weeks prior to an election.

The campaign finance reports that are filed with the Washington Secretary of State reflect this law. For the first time this year, all of the senators who are up for reelection filed reports that showed they had raised no money from any individual or political party in the two weeks prior to the election.

This is a significant change from previous years when some of the senators who are up for reelection have been known to receive large donations from corporations and individuals with interests in state government.

These changes may be a result of new laws that were passed in 2015 aimed at limiting the influence of money on state politics. These laws include bans on lobbyist gifts and contributions from corporations with more than $5 million in revenue.

The reports filed by the senators show that they have raised a total of $194,000 in contributions from individuals and political parties between September 1 and September 15. The largest donation was $10,000 from the Washington Education Association.

The campaign finance reports filed by the candidates for governor also show that they have raised no money from any individual or political party in the two weeks prior to the election. This is a significant change from previous years when some of the candidates for governor have been known to receive large donations from corporations and individuals with interests in state government.

The total amount of money that has been raised by the candidates for governor is $198,000. The largest donation was $5,000 from Microsoft Corporation.
